Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserva

While I was visiting Boston, I ran into a fabulous cigar bar where I spent a better part of two days smoking like a chimney. The place is called Stanza dei Sigari located in the North End at 292 Hanover Street. There is nothing better than getting a nice Italian meal and firing up a wonderful smoke. The Stanza dei Sigari is located in a 100 year old building in the basement with no windows or ventilation. The ceilings are 7 feet high and the room is very narrow. This place used to be a 1920's speak easy. It has a great atmosphere. Everyone is either smoking a cigar or one of the many hookahs that are available for $25 a hour. It is a must visit when in Boston.

While at Stanza dei Sigari, I met a gentlemen by the name of Remi who runs a political website called whosyour candidate.com. We had a great conversation about politics and cigars while watching a Boston Bruins lose to the Montreal Canadiens. My choice of smoke that night was the Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve.

The Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve is handmade in Honduras at the Flor de Copan. This smoke is far milder than the 1875 Series and the Real Reserva. It was very light and spicy. The fillers are made from Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos along with a Nicaraguan binder and wrapper. It is loosely made which caused the smoke to break up towards the end. However, the earth and spicy tones of this smoke were delightful. The burn was even and the draw painless. I smoked the toro which measures 6 x 56. These smokes are well worth their price of $87 for a box of 27. If you are looking for something new and something light, fire up a Habana Reserve.
