La Aurora 1495 Series Robusto
I visited my local smoke shop and found this good looking gem sitting there waiting to be fired up. I have not smoked an Aurora in quite sometime. I was quickly reminded why I have not smoked any in awhile. It's the price! The La Aurora 1495 Series Robusto was priced at $8.95 for a stick. I never get comfortable spending that much money on one cigar, but it looked to damn good to pass up. With that said, my expectations were high for the pricey smoke.
La Aurora 1945 Series is a tribute to the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. This city was founded by the great Italian, Christopher Columbus in 1495. This smoke is blended with aged Corojo and Ligero long fillers from Nicaragua, Peru and the Dominican Republic. It has a rich Nicaraguan binder and finished with an Ecuadorian grown wrapper. La Aurora 1945 was easy to light and keep lit. It had an easy draw along with an even burn. The taste was incredible with flavors starting with cinnamon and finishing with a strong oak flavor. The robusto measures a standard 5 x 50. This smoke is a great alternative to the Ashton VSG, but not at $8.95 a stick. With little effort, I found a 25 count box of these smokes for $149.95 on the web. For a price of $5.99 a stick, it is a must try. For $8.95, it is a must pass.
