Gurkha Regent

The other day I received my year-end review from my cigar loving boss. Last year's review was very similar to a prison shower scene. I was the guy picking up the bar of soap. This year was a totally different story and that's life in the sales industry, one day your a hero the next day you are a zero. This year I was a hero but quickly heading towards zero once again. Needless to say, Frank Sinatra had it right, "shot down in April and back on top in June...that's life..." To celebrate my fleeting success, I stopped in at my local smoke shop to fire up something special.

I chose the box-pressed beauty from Gurkha called the Regent. This creation is finished with a dark 5-year aged Nicaraguan Havana 2000 wrapper. It has a silky smooth finish which felt like velvet. It contains Dominican Piloto and Cuban-Ligero fillers with a binder from Indonesia. The draw was effortless with an easy light. The Gurkha Regent maintained an even burn all the way to the nub.

The Gurkha Regent was a very mild smoke that is easy on the palate. As I sat thinking about last year's accomplishments, I noticed slight hints of toast and leather. These beauties come in a box of 20 for $140. I picked up mine for a price of $11 a stick. It was worth every penny as it helped me to unwind from 2007 and gear up for another year of kissing ass.

Greate review. Gurkha is becoming a big player in the market and recently they have become one of the closest productions to original cuban style cigars.
