Rocky Patel Fusion
Rocky Patel continues to experiment with blends until he creates the perfect masterpiece. Unfortunately, his Fusion series fails to deliver the same quality and consistency you expect from this master craftsman. The Rocky Patel Fusion is a combination of his Vintage '90 and Vintage '92 smokes. The Fusion is constructed with Nicaraguan, Honduran and Cameroon fillers. He then uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper as a binder. Rocky Patel then finishes this smoke with an oily Habano wrapper. This blend of tobacco produces a mild smoke with a strong oak flavor with hints of nut. I fired up the robusto which measures 5.5 x 50. They come in a box of 20 for $110. The Rocky Patel Fusion lit easily and had an effortless draw. Towards the middle of the stick, it started to canoe which took some effort to even out. As I approached the nub, it began to hallow out. This was my first Rocky Patel creation that failed to live up to the high standards that I come to appreciate with his line of cigars.
I fired up the Rocky Patel Fusion outside the Green Bay airport. The weather was so nice that I cut out of work to catch an earlier flight home. Unfortunately, I did not make the flight. This provided me just enough time to enjoy a good cigar, sit back, relax and soak in the beautiful spring day before leaving Title Town.
The Rocky Patel Fusion is a good cigar, but is not in the same league with the rest of his creations. The only good news is that this cigar was a gift from a fellow cigar lover. Not having to pay for this smoke made it that much more enjoyable.
