H. Upmann Signature

Last night me and Mrs. Monkey sat on the back deck drinking some Napa Cellars Cabernet and reflecting on a wonderful summer. We can not believe how fast the summer and the year are flying. It just seemed like last week that our kids started baseball and now we are preparing for school. It is truly amazing how time flies. The one pleasure in life that helps time stand still is a good cigar and great company. Last night, I had both.

As the sun began to set, I fired up a H. Upmann Signature with a natural wrapper. These beauties come in a box of 20 for $115. I fired up the Double Eagle which is a robusto size smoke measuring 5.5 x 50. This beauty is constructed with Peruvian, Nicaraguan and Honduran long fillers. The binder hails from Nicaragua and it finished with a rich Nicaraguan Connecticut-seed natural wrapper. This blend of tobacco creates a smooth, creamy, mild smoke. It lit easily and had a pleasant hint of graham. The draw was effortless and the burn was even. I was able to build a two-inch ash before it fell. It was the perfect choice for a hot summer night and wonderful compliment to the Cabernet and company.
