I gotta tell ya the CL3 kicked my butt. It's one powerful smoke.

Comment on Arganese Connecticut Ambassador

That's the one I had. I didn't save the band and couldn't remember the exact name, but yes, a triple ligero with the corojo wrapper (and my friend did have the maduro wrapper version). It was indeed a tasty stick and I look forward to getting my hands on them again.

Comment on Arganese Connecticut Ambassador

The Aragnese Line of smokes are fabulous and I carry most of them on CigarMonkey, Inc. I will hosting Gene Arganese at the Midwest Cigar Summit. I can't wait to meet him. Also, I will be reviewing the new CL3 tomorrow, which is a powerful, tasty triple Corojo Ligero.

Comment on Arganese Connecticut Ambassador

I will keep an eye out for that one. Unfortunately, there's only one store in my area that carries Arganese currently, and they don't carry the entire line yet. I actually ran into the founder and namesake, Gene Arganese, at that shop a couple weeks ago. He and the California rep were visiting with the owner of the shop. He gave me and my friend each a free Connecticut Ambassador and the rep gave us each a "pre-release" cigar that I think they are introducing at the national retail show this month. If I remember correctly, I had the "LR3" which is a triple-ligero with a rosado wrapper; my friend had the "MR3" with the Maduro wrapper. Both were excellent and very powerful. Look forward to seeing those on the shelves soon.

Comment on El Titan Redemption

MonkeyDan,

Smoking a belicoso as I type. Also, if you liked the Arganese Ambassador, you must try their DoubleWrap. It is just as smooth and light. Have a great 4th!

Comment on Arganese Connecticut Ambassador

I have to agree completely with this review. The Connecticut Ambassador doesn't look like much with it's smooth, very light natural wrapper, but it is an excellent smoke--something that's fairly unusual to find in a light-to-medium bodied stogie. By way of comparison, one of the other light Connecticut stogies that I've tried lately was the Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 and I absolutely hated it. This one, on the other hand, was rich and complex without being overly powerful.

Comment on Ashton VSG Sorcerer

I have a VSG in my humidor right now which has been sitting there for almost a year. I'm breaking it out next month in honor of our local cigar shop Roberts Cigar Lounge which closed last July. The VSG is a great smoke!

Comment on Rocky Patel Decade

If you like the Decade try the Olde World Reserve.
